Things you should bring from home
Sometimes you are admitted to hospital so suddenly that you won't have time to pack your bags in peace and quiet. However, please do use any time you might have to prepare for your stay in hospital: this will make things easier for you and for us. We have put together a list of the most important things for your stay with us.
Checklist:
• Health insurance card
• Verification of any additional insurance cover
• X-rays, if you have any: CT and MRI images
• Laboratory results and ECG
• Long-term medication: important! Show your pills to the doctor who examines you on arrival. They can then be given to your family when they visit, because you will receive any medication you need from the hospital during your stay.
• Vaccination card, X-ray card
• Pyjamas or nightdress, dressing gown
• Slippers
• Underwear, socks, comfortable clothing (for physio- and occupational therapy)
• Towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, flannels, possibly a container for artificial denture
• Brush and comb, razor, cosmetics, nail scissors/file
• Small change, but please do not bring any larger sums of money with you
• Book/magazine
Please leave the following at home:
• Medication that you do not take regularly
• Wristwatches, expensive jewellery and other valuables
• Larger sums of money
• Pets
