Nurses and carers are an important component of the multiprofessional team looking after geriatric patients. They work together closely with the other professional groups and are frequently the initial point of contact for patients and their families.

Our holistic approach to care is based on Dorothea Orem's care model. Here, nursing care and therapy always aim to help the patients to help themselves in the framework of their own specific possibilities and capabilities. The Bobath concept also plays a major role. Here the focus is placed on activating, rehabilitative and therapeutic care.

Recovering in a safe, secure environment

Our work focuses on the geriatric patients with their individual needs and desires for support, safety and security while recovering their health. The aim is for the patient to recover the greatest possible independence, which can also mean learning to live with restrictions. Together with our colleagues, we help our patients to come to terms with this difficult task.

The EGZB Academy provides an extensive range of courses for all professional groups involved in geriatric medicine; regular attendance ensures that the nursing staff and carers keep their skills and know-how on the highest possible level.
