Occupational therapy for coping with everyday life
Cleaning your teeth, getting dressed, making breakfast - after a stroke, many patients have to learn from scratch how to cope with these normal daily activities. This is where occupational therapy comes in. The therapists help the patients to study the movement sequences involved and recommend suitable aids where necessary. They also help patients to practice more complex procedures such as shopping and cooking meals. In many cases, they visit the homes of their patients to suggest how these can be adapted to make the rooms more suitable.
Our occupational therapists also help with individual treatment of sensomotor problems or paresthesia. The various problems are treated with a range of different therapies, including:
- Bobath
- Affolter
- Perfetti
- Johnstone
