Good health in old age – we're the experts!
Experts for geriatric medicine
The Evangelische Geriatriezentrum Berlin (EGZB) is a Geriatric Centre with a reputation extending way beyond the borders of Berlin and Brandenburg. Our centre includes an acute care geriatric hospital, a partially residential day clinic, a day care centre and a care home. The training academy offers qualifications for people from all over Germany and many different professions working in health care. The range of services is rounded off by the "Rund ums Alter" ("all about old age") advice centre.
The EGZB has a Gedächtnisambulanz (memory clinic) and cooperates closely with the Interdisziplinären Stoffwechselzentrum (interdisciplinary metabolic centre). Both departments together with the corresponding research group on "Geriatrics" are headed by Prof. Dr. Steinhagen-Thiessen, Medical Director of the EGZB and Professor for Geriatrics and Internal Medicine at the Charité.
The following institutions are associated with the EGZB
Alzheimer Angehörigen-Initiative (Alzheimer's carers group)
Schlaganfallbüro der Bertelsmann Stiftung (stroke office of the Bertelsmann Foundation)
Bundesverband der Geriatrischen Krankenhäuser (National Association of Geriatric Hospitals)
