Focus group & tea dance
From 4 to 6 p.m. on every first and third Tuesday in the month, the AAI holds a carers focus group at the EGZB with a professional facilitator. During this period, volunteers look after the carers' family members suffering from dementia, in a neighbouring room. In addition, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on every first Wednesday in the month, there is a tea dance for carers and dementia sufferers. You can attend the tea dance spontaneously without prior notice. You are kindly asked to let us know beforehand if you want to attend the focus group.
Cooperation with carers self-help group

Dementia is a central issue in the Evangelische Geriatriezentrum (EGZB), as many of our patients suffer from this disease. Every day, we experience how soul-destroying dementia can be, also for the family carers. In advanced stages, patients need a lot of care; frequently they show behavioural changes with agitation and aggression, causing many friends and neighbours to withdraw. But we also know that it can help to talk to others who are similarly affected, which is why we cooperate with the Alzheimer Angehörigen-Initiative (AAI) (Alzheimer's Carers Group), which is a regional member of the German Alzheimer's Society.
